What is the Expectations Behavior Management System?
The Expectations Behavior Management System is a book written with the purpose to provide every school with a scope and sequence to create a school-wide behavior management system otherwise known as a multi-tiered system of support, for those who struggle most. This system was designed to create a “prevent first” culture within each building it is used in.
The purpose of this behavior program is to:
- Reduce aggressive, disruptive, and off-task behaviors of students in the school setting by making collaborative, informed decisions for behavioral interventions needed based on individual student data.
- Improve the student’s social, cognitive, and problem-solving skills
- Improve the student’s peer relationships and academic skills and performance
This book allows school staff members to create a data-driven behavior program for struggling students. The system prepares both staff and students for a new way of interacting with each other. The 8 easy to follow lesson plans help teachers to set up a solid foundation for their students to build their character, and to set a path for success. The decisions that the team makes about each child’s program is data-driven and based on best practice strategies. At the same time, the program creates accountability for both staff and students to deal with behaviors as a team.
All members of the IEP Team will have a new way to communicate with each other in real-time so that appropriate decisions can be made to each child’s programming in a timely manner.
